"Waiting For Spring to Come" by Rose Chaney

I found this picture down the road from my house at Kilowatt Park.  I was trying to catch the curve of the land around the water, while doing so I also caught a beautiful scene. You can see rocks and plants draping over them.  There is a reflection in the water of some trees in the foreground.  If you look at it closely enough you can also see a dog on the edge of the land by the water. This shot represents unexpected beauty because most people wouldn’t think of dead plants as something nice to look at, but here they are.

Despite what you may think this may be, it is actually a tree stump. It focuses in on the texture of it, rather than the leaves in the background. As you can see, it has moss growing on the inside of it. There is also a big stick in there too. If you look close enough you will realize that you can look all the way out of the back side.

The city recently drained the White River because it was getting too high. While doing that, you can imagine some wild life creatures had to lose their homes.  This is how they end up.  Humans need to realize how some of the things they think they need to do to modify nature for themselves can really hurt the nature around us.  Maybe this clam could’ve lived out its life fully if we did.

This is Kilowatt Park and the White River at sunset.  I took this because of the amazing cloud’s reflection on the water.  It also demonstrates light and dark, even though it is mostly just shadows in the back. The water is still pretty light and blue. The mountains are black smudges in the distance. I think it really makes you squint your eyes to see if you can get any more detail out of it.

This tree is starting to grow berries on it for Spring.
